CLPENS Executive  

Wilbert (Wib) Antler

Wib retired from Canada Life in 1993 after 37 years of service in IS, Controller’s, BID and Corporate Services. His initial inquiries in 1994 into the operation of Canada Life’s pension plan resulted in the formation of a small group of like-minded individuals in 1996 and ultimately, CLPENS.

 

Ed Barrett

Ed's 42-year insurance career began in 1955 with the Sun Life Assurance Society. He joined Canada Life in 1962 and worked primarily in Group Pensions and Group Marketing.  Ed was also responsible for running the Company's staff pension plans in the early/mid 90's.  He retired in 1997 and has been an active member of CLPENS since 2001.

 

Phil Davy

Phil’s career at Canada Life spanned over 30 years in the Group Life and Health and Pension divisions.  He retired from Canada Life in 2001 as Group Sales Manager, Toronto Group Office and has been involved with CLPENS since 2002.

 

Alex Harvey

Alex’s career at Canada Life spanned 32 years including management roles in Group Underwriting, Sales and General Management. He left the Company as Vice President, Group Wealth Management responsible for group pensions and annuities in 2003. Alex is one of three named plaintiffs in our lawsuit against Canada Life and has been a CLPENS Executive Committee member since 2004.

 

David Kidd

David’s tenure at Canada Life covered 17 years including management roles in Group Sales and Business Development. He left the Company in 2003 and is currently an independent consultant advising on corporate and personal retirement plan and investment issues. David is one of three named plaintiffs in our lawsuit against Canada Life.

 

Brian Lynch

Brian spent 14 years at Canada Life in Investments and Investor Relations, additionally serving as project manager for Canada Life’s corporate finance activities, including the 1999 IPO. He left the Company as Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications in 2003. He is currently Director, Investor Relations at ING Canada Inc. and was named to the CLPENS Executive Committee in 2005.

 

Jim Martin

Jim joined Canada Life in 1995 and retired from the Company in 2004 as a Group Distribution Vice President. His retirement marked the end of a 40 year career in the insurance industry, having worked previously at Manulife and Aetna. Jim was invited to join the CLPENS Executive Committee in 2004.

 

Gary Nummelin

Gary retired in 2000 following more than 35 years service at Canada Life. He was involved in all aspects of Individual Life insurance systems and a wide range of special projects, including system conversions, demutualization and Y2K. Gary has been an active member of CLPENS since 2000.

 

Fred Taggart

Fred worked at Canada Life for over 30 years, holding senior management positions in Information Technology, Group Pension, Investments & Pensions and Individual Insurance. He left the Company as Vice President, Individual Insurance in 2003.
