| It has come to our attention that some plan members were concerned that membership in this group might put their pensions at risk. Pensions are paid from a trust fund and are outside the direct control of the company sponsoring the plan (now Great West Life Insurance Company / Power Corporation). The plan is registered under the Pension Benefits Act of Ontario and regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Please rest assured that any involvement in this group will not have any adverse effect on your pension. | |||

While we have no objection to the transfer of funds, we are concerned that the request was filed under a clause whereby the company claims full ownership of the pension surplus. |
